Space Hulk!!!

HJMFSC!!! It´s been quite a while since I posted here now.
A while back a friend and me played a game of Space Hulk. Lovely game! For those of you who are uninitiated it´s a board game in the Warhammer 40k universe. Two players control either a small group of Space Marines and the other controls Genestealers. Genestealers are vicious and extremely dangerous alien critters, very fast, strong and agile. The Blood Angels (Space Marines) are, a bit contradictory to their name the protagonists, the REALLY good guys even among other good guys. In many aspects the game is quite similar to the Alien films.

This version of Space Hulk is actuallt the third edition. It was first released in 1989 (waaaaay before my time) and re-released in 2009 as a 20th year special edition thing. The figures is beautifully crafted and was a pure pleasure to paint. The figure shown below is brother Calistarius, a Blood Angel Librarian (just to clearify, a librarian is not someone who works in a library but a powerful sorcerer). Calistarius later became Mephiston Lord of Death, which is a Blood Angel special character.

The game is played by firstly setting up a course. The course is pre-determined by the Mission Book. It consists of jigsaw-like pieces that fit into each other to form long narrow corridors. Just like normal Warhammer-gaming the results are determined by dice rolls.
Almost all Space Marine history is filled with heroic last stands and this game can very easily add to that history by bad dice rolls and/or bad planning.

I won this match on pure luck:-).
